Now everyone can invoice authorities via invoiceportal.eu

The Swedish government has decided that all national authorities shall be able to handle electronic invoices by 1 July this year. Each year, the authorities receive 11 million invoices from 85,000 suppliers, of whom most submit only a few invoices per year. To facilitate the introduction, authorities are now offering their suppliers the Invoice Portal from Expert Systems–a simple approach to submitting electronic invoices.
“We are proud to be the suppliers of the government’s invoice portal. The government’s electronic invoice drive is the most significant event to this day in this area in Sweden and has already had an extensive impact,” says Christer Rygaard, Managing Director of Expert Systems.

The Invoice Portal has been in operation since 2002 and is an Internet-based service that allows suppliers to submit electronic invoices. Invoice Portal is the most widely used service for web-based registration. It is already used in Sweden, Denmark and Norway by thousands of suppliers submitting invoices to companies such as Axfood, ICA and Coop, as well as to municipalities and county councils. With hundreds of new authorities able to receive electronic invoices, the use of such invoices will increase, enhancing the benefit for all who submit and receive them.

For suppliers, invoicing via the Invoice Portal is simple. The supplier chooses the most suitable method: free registration via web form or via Exder. Suppliers preferring to submit files from their systems can connect to a “virtual printer” via Exder ePrinter. The authorities will see no difference – all invoices from the Invoice Portal have the same appearance for the recipient.

All that suppliers need for web-based registration is a PC connected to the Internet. Users sign up via a simple web form and their passwords are confirmed by e-mail within minutes.

Expert Systems is a subcontractor to Itella, a contract partner within the government’s framework agreement on electronic invoicing.

“The Invoice Portal meets the requirements of the SwedInvoice standard and supports attachments. There is no simpler way to invoice,” says Ewa Klevebro, Sales Manager of Expert Systems.

“If a company later wants to conduct electronic sales and also receive orders electronically, it can expand easily with Exder,” she adds.
